Welcome to Mloovi
What is it?
Mloovi is a tool which will translate RSS newsfeeds into 35 languages using Google Translate .
Do I need to read all this?
Of course not! Just stick an RSS feed URL in the box above, choose your languages and you are good to go, it's not complicated just try it :) If you are interested in finding out a little more about us read on...
Who should use it?
If you are a blogger who wants to expand your market worldwide, use Mloovi to generate an RSS feed in the language of your choice, your users can subscribe to that url and see your blog in their language whenever it is updated.
What about Expats? I am an expat myself so I know what it is like not being able to read the local news to find out what's going on. Why not use Mloovi to translate the local news sites into English?
If you are a non English speaker then you can use Mloovi to translate RSS feeds into your language.
Does it cost anything?
We are offering the basic service free of charge, but you will see adverts included in the feeds. if you want to have these adverts removed you can sign up for one of our premium accounts and the adverts will be gone.
How good are the translations
They are certainly not perfect like you would get from a professional translator but in our testing we have found that most of the time it is possible to understand what the posts are about. Remember, you are reading a blog not some legal document that is going to change your life (at least I hope you're not, don't do it, get a proper translator!)
What if it doesnt work?
We are still in th early stages of development and there have been known to be some problems, they have mostly been due to badly formed XML in the feeds which we can't do too much about, you wil need to contact the feed owner if this is the case. But of course being web2.0 we are in BETA, so if you do come across a problem email us on support[at]mloovi[dot]com, please include the feed url you were using and which languages you wanted to translate it into.
How did you come up with the idea?
In a very web2.0 way :) We have been working on www.learnitlists.com for quite some time now and learning lots about language and translations. The other day Mike Butcher ( uk.techcrunch.com ) posted on Twitter that he was looking to translate RSS feeds into English to help him investigate the European startup scene, and could someone write something to do it. Well I thought, it's kind of the stuff I have been working on and I know how to do it so why not! From there it expanded to add more features and become what it is today, so thanks Mike for the inspiration to build this thing (so go read his blog).
Why is it called Mloovi?
I knew you would ask that, well we have to have a name don't we? And this is pretty web2.0 right? OK so Mloovi sounds kind of like a web2.0 slightly funny, funky name, but the main reason is that it is a transliteration of the word 'to speak' in Czech (mluvi). So there you go, you learn something new every day (oh and on that note go learn something today on www.learnitlists.com , we developed that as well)
What if I want more features?
Just ask, maybe we can do itmaybe we can't, but you will never know if you don't ask the question :) Drop us an email at features[at]mloovi[dot]com and we will see what we can do. We can't guarantee a response (we are very busy people) but we can guarantee that we will read your email.
